Western Career College, a division of DeVry Inc., is looking for professional people with the ability to partner with federal, public, and government agencies and communicate with key decision makers to increase the number of job leads and placements for our Criminal Justice students. Past experience with Criminal Justice agencies through job development preferred. This position is responsible for presenting the College, its Criminal Justice program, and services to agencies and employers, answering questions that they may have with regard to making the decision to partner with the college. The position requires that the individual have excellent communication skills and enthusiasm. This is a great opportunity for the right candidates to get their foot in the door of an established, growth oriented, reputable college.

Criminal Justice Liaison

The position will be responsible for the Central Valley and Bay Area Western Career College campuses. Candidates must have dependable transportation and the ability to work out of the office visiting employer locations.

• Develops strategic long lasting relationships with state and government agencies

• Identifies potential employers that match the educational background of Criminal Justice students and alumni

• Work closely with Career Services to develop job leads for Criminal Justice students, and build relationships with potential employers and agencies

• General professional skills require outstanding professionalism

• The position requires a high degree of integrity and commitment to comply with policies, regulations, and codes of conduct governing all aspects of job responsibilities

• Developed networks with local law enforcement, CHP, TSA, government agencies and corrections highly desired

Skills and Experience:

• Ability to respond to customer requirements with a sense of urgency

• Proven ability to meet and exceed targets and/or goals

• Ability to address employer and/or student needs and resolve issues with diplomacy and tact

• Commitment to the success of the students and the company

• Possess high energy and passion for success, excellent telephone and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills including questioning, listening and showing concern and respect for others

• Must be a self-starter who can work independently

• Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of MS Office Suite

• Criminal Justice placement related experience required. 1-3 years job placement, corporate outreach, marketing or public relations experience within Criminal Justice or a related field desired

• Possess AA/AS degree minimum. Bachelors preferred

• Ability to drive positive placement results for Western Career College students within Criminal Justice occupations

• Strong PC and web search engine skills
