Job Description / Responsibilities:

The Boulder Police Department is looking for individuals with excellent customer service skills who want to become part of a select team. Serving a population of 103,000, The Boulder Police Department offers challenging work and a selection of professional assignments. With approximately 170 commissioned members, the department is small enough to know all of your co-workers, yet large enough to provide career opportunities in patrol, detectives, a motorcycle unit, on  University Hill, as a crime scene investigator, a member of the  bomb squad, a firearms instructor, a school resource officer or a field training officer.  

Our competitive wage and benefit package includes a starting salary of $41,600 annually, with up to a 25% increase depending on previous law enforcement experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Applicants must be 21 years of age

• 60 hours completed college work with a grade of C or better, or equivalent military experience (generally 2 years of active, full-time military experience is equivalent to 30 college credit hours)

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

• Clean criminal record

Selection Process Timeline:

1. September 13^th  through 24^th  – Phase I Testing, includes written exam, oral interview, application verification interview, Computer Voice Stress Analysis.

2. October 12^th  through 29^th  - Background Investigation

3. December 3^rd - Conditional job offers

4. December 6^th through 11^th - Phase II Testing, includes medical exam, psychological interview, physical agility qualification

5. December 13^th – Final job offers

6. Monday January 3rd, 2005 - Start date
