Under the direction
of a Command Officer:
Provides direct public
safety services to the citizens of the unincorporated areas of Chatham County.
Maintains a highly
visible presence within the community.
Enforces all traffic
laws and issues citations for violations.
Mediates civil disputes.
Responds to calls and/or
complaints from citizens.
crimes and traffic accidents and makes arrests.
investigations, interviews witnesses, and delivers Miranda warnings.
Performs a variety of
community outreach policing duties.

$39,560 - $63,296
based on Experience
$2,000 signing bonus
for qualified candidates hired at the Police Officer rank only. Signing bonus
requires a one (1) year service commitment with a signed agreement. Voluntary
separation within one (1) year of employment will require signing bonus

Current Georgia Peace
Officer Certification or current out-of-state certification.
Possess knowledge of
Federal, State, and County laws governing police activities and operations,
including all related criminal and civil laws and ordinances.
