Supervisor is the first line supervision position at CenCom E9-1-1 that works
under the direct supervision of a Deputy Director. The Communications Supervisor
must be able to perform all duties of a Telecommunicator II and work as a part
of the management team.
Subject must be able
to pass thorough background check.
Must possess a valid
Applicants may also be
subject to a pre-employment psychological and medical exam.
Applicants will also
be required to type at least 30 wpm, and must have excellent communications
Ability to clearly
speak without any pronounced accent or speech impediment and write the English
full access certification.
The applicant must
also have minimum of one (1) year experience as a public safety
Telecommunicator answering 9-1-1 calls and dispatching police, fire and EMS
Supervisor should have experience in using a CAD (computer aided dispatch)
A two (2) year degree
in public administration, communications or other related public safety field
Must be able to pass a
one (1) year probationary period.
Must be able to
perform all duties of a Telecommunicator II and operate a position within the
supervision for Telecommunicators I and II while working a shift.
Telecommunicators assigned to their shift.
Oversee all training
of new employees on their shift.
Issue verbal warnings
and recommend discipline when warranted.
Assurance review of calls handled by their assigned personnel.
Monitor and inspect
the condition of the Communications Center, Detention Facility, and its
equipment, reporting any problems found to the Deputy Director and/or
$29.86 an hour
Minimum of One year
Public Safety Communications experience required
Twelve hour work
schedule – every other weekend off
