Community Service Officer - CSO






The Village of Antioch is seeking part-time Community Service Officer(s)/Jailers "CSO". The CSO’s assist the Police Department and Police Officers in a variety of duties related to serving the community and acting as jailer. CSO’s are non-sworn, uniformed, civilian employees without the power to arrest and do not carry firearms.


This is an at-will position and requires availability to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.



Responsibilities Include:


Community Service Officers performs work of moderate difficulty pertaining to public relations and community service. Duties include, but are not limited to, parking enforcement, traffic control, vehicle lockouts, fleet maintenance, school crossing duties, jailer duties, fingerprinting, animal complaints and other duties as deemed necessary by the administration.




  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Minimum, 18 years of age

  • Be in good physical/mental condition

  • Must be able to interact respectfully and courteously with the public and department employees

  • Must possess upstanding moral character and exercise sound judgment

  • Must be able to pass a complete criminal finger print background check; free of any serious traffic violations, misdemeanors or felony convictions

  • Must possess basic knowledge of computers and office equipment

  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner

  • Must be able to work various shifts including but not limited to midnights, weekends and holidays




$14.25 per hour, no employee benefits
