Minimum Qualifications:

  • Status as a certified Police Officer in the State of Illinois for one year after completion of a probationary period. Prior experience in municipal law enforcement preferred;

  • In good standing with the agency in which the person currently serves;

  • Have at least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education;

  • Have vision correctable to 20/20;

  • Be a U.S. citizen and have a valid Illinois driverís license;

  • Pass oral interview, background investigation, polygraph, psychological exam, and medical exam (drug screening);

  • Tattoo(s), Body Art or Branding visible while in any authorized uniform (shorts and/or short sleeve shirt) are prohibited;

  • Pass oral interview, background investigation, polygraph, psychological exam, and medical exam, including a drug screening.
