The City of Aurora is currently accepting applications for a Forensic Technician
in the Police Department.
duties are focused on conducting scientific analyses and administrative
functions related to a police crime laboratory.
will develop and oversee the forensic disciplines of firearms and tool mark
latent print examination and impression evidence examination.
Responsibilities include conducting cell phone extractions, computer forensic
examinations, audio and visual enhancements and recovery of video evidence.
requires direct interaction and communication with other staff, officials and
the general public.
requires the skill in the use of audio and video equipment; general knowledge
of forensic disciplines practiced within the laboratory; proficiency in
scientific and technical writing; ability to communicate effectively, both
verbally and in written form.
working knowledge of applicable State and Federal regulations.
candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate
professionalism at all times.
Science in forensic and/or computer technology field preferred.
experience in a crime laboratory environment.
2-year training at Chicago Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory (RCFL) or
ability to complete training upon employment.
proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
requires that the applicant have a valid driverís license.
