There is a $25.00 CASH ONLY non-refundable application fee.

 

Applications must be returned no later than Friday, June 17, 2016 at 4:00 PM.

 

Note: The Commission reserves the right to stop distributing applications before the 6/17/16 deadline.

 

 

All Application Packets must have duplicate copies of all source document evidence:

  • Birth certificate

  • High school diploma

  • College diploma

  • DD214 if applicable

  • Current driver's license

  • Photo of candidate (2 X 2 )

  • Standards Board Certification if applicable

Note: If recent 2016 graduates have not been issued their diplomas, please include final transcripts with application packet.

 

 

ALL APPLICANTS MUST:

  • Be 21 years old (or at least 20 if you have an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice), and less than 35 years of age (subject to certain exceptions listed in 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1.6)

  • Be a U.S. citizen

  • Have an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement or a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science Degree in any other area

  • Have no felony convictions nor certain misdemeanors

  • Have a valid driver's license

  • Attend a mandatory orientation meeting

  • Pass all examinations given by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners; Pass all other examinations including comprehensive medical, drug testing, polygraph, psychological, federal and state background/fingerprinting and state certification if applicable

 

THE MANDATED APPLICANT ORIENTATION MEETING AND WRITTEN TEST WILL BE GIVEN BY THE COMMISSION ON SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2016 AT 9:00 AM SHARP AT THE FIRE STATION (LOWER LEVEL NEXT TO THE VILLAGE HALL).  YOU MUST BRING YOUR PROOF OF DRIVER'S LICENSE AT EVERY TESTING STOP.
