You must meet the
following minimum requirements:
Have been employed,
whether currently or in the past, for at least two (2) years as a
full time, non-probationary, sworn law enforcement officer by a Federal, State,
County or local law enforcement agency. Applicants must be in good standing with
the agency in which they served. (Part-time certification as a law
enforcement officer does not meet this requirement.)
Must have completed
the State of Illinois certified police officer training board
Be a United States
Must be 21 years of age
and less than 35 years of age at the time
of application. Applicants who are currently police officers, or have previously
been police officers, and are less than 42 years of age, are exempt from the
35-year age limit.
school education or equivalent thereof.
have previously been a full-time sworn
Police Officer in any municipal, county, university or state or federal law
enforcement agency, provided they are certified or have the ability to be
certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and have
been previously employed as a law enforcement officer within the last two (2)
have no felony convictions and be of good
moral character as described in State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6.
