POLICE OFFICER

 

 

The Cary Board of Police Commissioners

is accepting applications for Police Officer. 

 

 

Applicants must:

  • Be a United States Citizen

  • Be between 21 and 35 years of age (except as provided by State Statutes)

  • Have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.

 

Salary Information:

  • Starting salary is $41,808 with excellent benefits

  • Candidates with previous law enforcement experience, including Illinois State Police Academy training, may be eligible for a starting salary of $47,299

  • Currently, maximum salary is $68,286 after four years

  • The Police Commission will discuss a relocation allowance for candidates with previous Illinois State Police Academy Training Certification and experience

There will be a $25.00 non-refundable application fee.  

 

In order to proceed in the testing process, completed applications and other required supporting documents, must be received by the Cary Board of Police Commissions, c/o Acting Chief of Police, Edward Fetzer, at the Cary Police Department no later than midnight on Sunday, September 14, 2008. 

 

A brief orientation, physical ability and written tests are scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2008, at 8:00 a.m. at Cary Junior High School.  The application packet will contain information explaining the testing process. 

 

Post-conditional offer process requires successful completion of psychological, polygraph, drug screen, and medical examination and background investigation.
