Only those applicants which pass the physical agility test will be invited to take the written exam immediately following.  Physical Agility Test Standards are listed on our website www.desplainespolice.org.  Study Guides for the written exam will be supplied with the application packet.
 

 

Qualifications:

  1. Be a citizen of the United States of good moral character

  2. Be 21 and less than 35 years of age at time of testing*

  3. Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  4. Have corrected vision to 20/20

  5. Have a valid Drivers License

  6. No Felony Convictions

*Current and former Police Officer or Auxiliary Officers (with 5 years experience under section 3.1-30-20 of the ILCS) or persons who served as a Deputy (under section 3-6008 of the Counties Code) must be less then 40 years of age at the time of testing.


Candidates must submit a complete and accurate application including all relevant paperwork, pass a physical agility test, written exam, background investigation, oral interview, polygraph, psychological, and medical exam.
