The Village of East Hazel Crest, Illinois is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Part-time Police Officer.

 

 

This part-time position involves

a variety of police duties including:

  • Maintaining law and order

  • Preserving peace

  • Preventing crime

  • Apprehending offenders

  • Official report writing

  • Court testimony

  • Recovering lost/stolen property

  • Maintaining custody of prisoners

A Part-time Police Officer is expected to deliver outstanding customer service to residents and visitors of the Village of East Hazel Crest.

 

 

Requirements:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required

  • Graduation from the State of Illinois basic recruit academy, or equivalent institution, is required

  • Candidates must meet requirements for the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board for Certified Police Officer

  • Participation in and successful completion of all stages of the testing process, including but not limited to, oral interview, extensive background investigation and post offer physical/drug test and psychological, is required

  • Conviction of a felony or certain misdemeanors, as defined by state statute, will disqualify candidates from consideration

  • Possess a valid driverís license

 

Part-time Police Officers will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.  This position will be scheduled to work approximately 60 hours per month; however, a minimum number of hours are not guaranteed.  This  position may advance to a Full-time Police Officer position when openings occur. Part-time Police Officers are considered at-will employees.
