Are you a Firefighter or Firefighter/Paramedic with a passion for community service and interested in becoming part of a great team? The Village of Glencoe is seeking individuals to become Paid-on-Call Firefighters and Firefighter/Paramedics (“POC FFs”) to supplement its full-time sworn Public Safety Officers. The Glencoe Public Safety Department is a full-service, combined public safety department that is staffed by civilians as well as sworn Public Safety Officers, who are fully cross-trained to provide police, fire, and emergency medical services, and is supplemented by civilian POC FFs. The Village is a member of MABAS Division 3. Because of the urgent nature of emergency responses and mutual aid network activations, POC FFs must be able to respond to calls and report for duty with very little advanced notice, and must be capable of responding to calls on an as-needed basis and reporting to work within 30 minutes of being called.

Pay rate is $25 for the first hour of a call, and $20 per hour thereafter for POC FFs with paramedic license
$20 for the first hour of a call and $15 per hour thereafter for POC FFs without paramedic license
