The Village of Glencoe, Illinois, population 8,723, located on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan approximately 20 miles north of Chicago seeks experienced public safety professionals as candidates to lead its fully integrated (fire/police/EMS) Department of Public Safety.

The Public Safety Department staff consists of 33 sworn personnel (18 are Paramedics, the remainder are Emergency Medical Technicians,) and is supplemented by 9 full-time civilians, 8 paid-on-call firefighters, 8 partĖtime school crossing guards and a stand-alone 911 communications center.  The Glencoe Department of Public Safety is recognized as being highly professional and is the only fully integrated public safety department in the world that is accredited by both the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies and the International Commission on Fire Accreditation.
