APPLICATION and TESTING INSTRUCTIONS

 

 

Minimum requirements to apply:

  • 21-35 years of age OR 20 years of age and who have successfully completed 2 years of law enforcement studies at an accredited college or university may be considered OR as otherwise exempt from age limitation by Illinois State Statute

  • No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude

  • Associates degree OR 60 semester college hours OR 90 quarter accredited college hours OR 2 years U.S. military service with honorable discharge and a high school diploma

  • U.S. citizenship or legal alien admitted for residence (green card holder)

  • Candidates must possess a valid driverís license

  • Residency within 20 miles of the Village of Glendale Heights by end of 18 month period of probation

  • Non-refundable application fee of $20.00 due at time of application submission payable to Village of Glendale Heights (Study guides will be provided at the time of application submission. Written examination questions are based on information provided in the study guide.

  • Bi-lingual capability is desired but not required

  • Salary Range: Starting $62,566; Ceiling $93,974 (after 7 years of service)

  • Not classified as a conscientious objector by Local Selective Service Draft Board
