Glenview Public Safety Dispatch Center is increasing its Supervisory staff due
to a recent expansion of services to neighboring communities. Glenview Public
Safety Dispatch Center (GPSDC) is a consolidated dispatch center operating two
centers based out of Glenview (South) and Highland Park (North). After the
consolidation is complete, Glenview Public Safety Dispatch Center (GPSDC) will
serve 13 Communities.
High School degree or equivalent
Three to five years of public safety dispatching experience.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Full Access LEADS must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment; New
World CAD experience is preferred.
A valid Priority Dispatch EMD certification
must be obtained within one year.
Successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and a sense of duty and
responsibility to the safety and welfare of the public, and be able to
communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Candidates must possess
proficient typing skills and experience using MS Office software. Attention to
detail and the ability to develop cooperative working relationships with
internal and external team members is a must. The ability to multi-task and
work effectively under sometimes stressful situations is also imperative. The
ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to make independent
decisions and problem solve issues as they arise. Candidate must be willing to
work weekdays, evenings, midnights, weekends, and holidays, and is subject to
call back 24/7. Supervisors work twelve (12) hour shifts and may have to work
up to eighteen (18) hours on occasion.
This is a non-exempt FLSA position and is eligible for overtime.
Due to 12 hour
shifts and built in overtime the starting salary range is
$76,481 - $107,071 and
fringe benefits, including participation in IMRF.
Starting salary is DOQ.

INTERVIEW PROCESS AND IMPORTANT DATES:
Candidates will be required to attend a mandatory group testing on December 20,
2016. Candidates who pass the group testing will be invited for another
mandatory test on January 10, 2017. The interviews will be held the week
of January 23rd.
