POLICE ACCREDITATION & GRANTS MANAGER

POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

 

The Village of Hanover Park (pop. 38,200) has an immediate opening for a full-time Police Accreditation and Grants Manager in the Police Department. This position performs duties necessary for the daily operations and administration of the Departmentís Accreditation Program as well as seeks, applies for, tracks and reports progress of law enforcement grants.    This position performs other duties as assigned.  Position hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with 37.5 hour work week, Monday through Friday. 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Requires an Associate's degree in law enforcement, business or related field from a two-year college or an equivalent combination of formal education and police training.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of police or municipal experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Requires considerable experience in the accreditation process through CALEA; extensive knowledge of all applicable Federal, State and local criminal statues; considerable knowledge of law enforcement to include the applicable rules, regulations and case law; and extensive knowledge of police department operations.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as excellent computer skills required.

  • Candidate must possess a valid Illinois driver's license. 

 

COMPENSATION:

     

Starting hiring wage maximum is $42,000; actual starting salary will be based on experience and qualifications.  Salary increases are based in part on demonstrated performance and ability to meet established goals and objectives.  The Village offers an excellent benefit package. 

 

 

SELECTION PROCESS:

 

The selection process will include a review of the candidateís past work experience and training, personal interview, and background check.
