Under the general direction of the Deputy Chief of Administration, reviews, processes, disseminates and files all paperwork concerning traffic, ordinance and criminal offenses; prepares and submits documents to the Secretary of State of Illinois; prepares paperwork for court; receives and processes warrants, summons and other requests from the court; performs automated data entry and other clerical duties as assigned by the Deputy Chief of Administration. Female clerks search/frisk female prisoners.



Successful applicant:

  • Will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Previous experience working in a Police Department preferred

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite required

  • Ability to learn different police related software programs, including LEADS


The hourly rate for this position is $17.49.


This position is classified as a full-time, IMRF, non-exempt, union position.


All applicants must be able to work night shift, weekends, holidays and adjust one’s work schedule to meet department needs.
