The Village of La Grange is a stable, mature community of 15,608 residents located in the western suburbs of Cook County. La Grange encompasses 2.5 square miles and is predominately a residential community with a vibrant central business district, two industrial areas, and two historic districts.  The median income is $95,554 and family homes range in price from $150,000 to over $1,000,000.

The La Grange Police Department employs 29 full-time police officers, and a Chief of Police. There are three Lieutenants, five Sergeants, and 21 Patrol Officers.  The Police Department also has 2 full-time parking enforcement officers, a corps of part-time officers, and 20 unpaid volunteer auxiliary officers.

Requirements:

• Applicants must be a U. S. citizen or provide proof of intention to become a citizen

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and not over 35 years of age at time of application

• Applicants must possess at time of appointment 60 semester hours from an accredited College or University
