The Board of Police Commissioners of the City of McHenry is seeking applicants for the purpose of creating a Police Officer Eligibility List.

 

A $25.00 non-refundable administrative and processing fee is required before an application is considered complete. Payment may be made electronically on the City of McHenry website www.ci.mchenry.il.us.

 

Completed applications will be accepted NO LATER than Monday, April 23, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.

 

 

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS PACKAGE:

  • $61,413.65 to $94,819.56 after 7 years

  • Two weeks of vacation after one year (1 week after 6 months)

  • Four personal days per year

  • Twelve sick days per year

  • 8 Ĺ holidays per year

  • Furnished uniforms upon hire with uniform allowance thereafter

  • Police pension program

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident

  • Be at least 21 years of age and under the age of 35 at the time of application, unless you are a current police officer certified through the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board; or meet military active duty or combat duty qualifications in accordance with Illinois Municipal Code 65ILCS5 Division 2.1 Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.

  • Possess a Bachelor Degree OR an Associate Degree plus 2 years previous law enforcement experience OR an Honorable Discharge from military service in accordance with Illinois Municipal Code 65ILCS5 Division 2.1 Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.

  • Possess a valid driverís license

  • Have no felony convictions

  • Have no misdemeanor arrests pertaining to domestic violence

  • Meet other criteria as established by the Police Commission

A mandatory written exam for all

qualified candidates will be held on:

 

Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 9:00 AM
