The Director of
Campus Safety has overall responsibility for the Department of Campus Safety at
North Central College which includes maintaining a safe and secure campus
environment, managing parking enforcement, leading crisis/emergency preparedness
efforts, and providing for compliance-related reporting. The director provides
leadership, guidance, and education for campus community members on safety and
security issues and serves as the Collegeís liaison with all local, state, and
federal law enforcement agencies.
Bachelorís degree in a relevant discipline, with an advanced degree preferred or a combination of education and experience equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in campus safety, security, law enforcement, or higher education administration with at least 3 years of supervisory experience, assessment of training needs and staffing, and analyzing the effectiveness of policies/procedures within a college environment is preferred. Experience in campus safety in a higher education setting is preferred. A minimum of 40 hours of formal protective services training, to include certification in emergency first aid and CPR is preferred.
Valid driverís license is required.
