The Northlake Police Department is accepting resumes for the position of full-time Communications Supervisor. This position is an integral middle management position within the police department.
The Northlake Communications Center is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, training/development/evaluating and supervision of communications personnel, as well as managing sophisticated radio and telephone networks and equipment. The Communications Supervisor is also responsible for managing the communications accreditation process and other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police.
Minimum of five years’ experience as a Police Communications Supervisor
Pass an extensive background investigation, including polygraph and psychological evaluations
Pass physical exam, including drug screen
Ability to speak clear, articulate English
Be able to work rotating shifts and holidays, as needed
Possess a valid Illinois drivers license
Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and equipment
Necessary knowledge and skills to supervise eight telecommunicators
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Bilingual in Spanish, highly desirable, but not necessary
