Orientation and Testing Information:

 

Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation

and written examination:

 

Saturday, December 1, 2018

 

Please arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. with a photo ID (driver's license, state ID, military ID) to sign-in. Testing location will be provided at a later time.

 

You will be notified via email on Monday, November 26, 2018 of your eligibility to attend the written exam. Your eligibility will be determined by your ability to successfully submit required documentation and meet each minimum requirement set forth.

 

The initial testing process will consist of a traditional police officer examination, which will assess job-related cognitive abilities, personality characteristics and behavioral traits. You do not need to have any law enforcement experience, training or knowledge to successfully complete these tests. An orientation will be provided immediately prior to the administration of the tests to provide further information regarding the testing process.

Police Officer Minimum Requirements:

  • $40.00 non-refundable application fee

  • At least 21 years of age and have not passed their 35th birthday by closing date for application

  • U.S. Citizen who speaks and understands English

  • Possess at least 60 hours of college credit at a fully accredited college or university, and also possess a minimum grade average of "C" by application deadline

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Successful completion of the POWER Test within one year prior to the date of written exam (cards must be dated 12/1/17-12/1/18)

  • Successfully pass a written test (12/1/18)

  • Successfully complete an oral interview

  • Successfully complete a background investigation

  • Successfully complete a psychological evaluation
