POLICE OFFICER BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • A $25.00 non-refundable fee payable to: Village of Richmond

  • United States Citizen at time of formal application

  • Valid Driverís License

  • Be at least 21 years of age

  • No Maximum Age limit

  • High School diploma or GED

  • No previous police experience is necessary, however if you are currently certified as a police officer, please include documentation (if applicable):

    • Verifying employment as a Full-time Illinois Police Officer, indicating length of time employed; OR

    • Verifying employment as a certified Part-time Illinois Police Officer indicating length of time employed

  • Copy of DD214 of any active military service in the United States with an honorable discharge only

  • Applicants must have vision that is correctable to 20/20, as well as proper color and peripheral vision

  • Applicants must submit proof of passing the POWER Test within ONE YEAR of the written exam date (October 7, 2017)

  • Pass a comprehensive pre-employment screening process to include: background investigation, polygraph, psychological and medical examination with drug testing
