The Villa Park Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.

The application deadline is April 12, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.



You must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be a United States citizen

  • Possess a High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED)

  • Possess a valid driver's license

  • Be 21 years of age, but not older than 34 years of age by the time you apply (unless exempt from the age limitation according to Illinois State Statute)

  • Obtain residency a maximum of 30 miles from the territorial limits of the village within one (1) year after the two-year probationary period of employment is completed

  • Possess a valid Illinois Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) test card demonstrating that the applicant has successfully completed the IL POWER test no more than one year prior to the date of the written examination (5/13/16 - 5/13/17)

  • Attend orientation and all phases of testing

  • Possess good moral character

  • Pass a polygraph test, thorough background investigation, medical examination, drug screening, and psychological assessment

Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. and candidates are to arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. with a state or government issued ID to sign in.  Testing will consist of a written examination (Law Enforcement Officer Selection Tool - LST) assessing job-related cognitive abilities, personality characteristics and behavioral traits for a police officer position.
