Position Details

The Palos Heights Fire Protection District is testing for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic.

Applications will be available:

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Monday through Friday

April 22nd through Monday May 6th (excluding holidays)

A non-refundable application fee of $25 (cash or check) shall be due at the time the application is picked up with checks being made payable to the "Palos Heights Fire Protection District". Completed applications must be filed in the Fire District's office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday May 6th. Applicants must appear in person and supply proper state or government identification to file the completed application. Position requirements will be given to applicants upon receipt of application.

Important requirements are:

1. Must be between ages 21 and 35 (unless previously employed as a full-time firefighter).
2. Must possess IL Basic Operations Firefighter Certification
3. Must possess IL Department of Public Health Paramedic License by May 6th, 2019.
4. Must be an IL State Fire Marshal Certified Fire Apparatus Engineer at time of appointment.
