Position Details

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of Schaumburg will be accepting applications for Firefighter/Paramedic beginning Friday, March 19, 2021 until Monday, April 19, 2021.

The Village of Schaumburg is currently accepting application to create an eligibility list for Firefighter/Paramedic. This list will be valid for 2 years or until exhausted.

APPLICATION PERIOD:

Now - 11:59 PM, April 19, 2021 

Candidates are required to complete the following:

• Complete the Village of Schaumburg Firefighter/Paramedic application online
• Schedule and complete Public Safety Self Assessment and FireTeam Exam prior to April 19, 2021 

HIRING PROCESS:

• Complete the Village of Schaumburg Firefighter/Paramedic application online
• Schedule and complete Public Safety Self Assessment and FireTeam Exam prior to April 19, 2021
• Oral Interview with the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners
• Psychological Exam
• Background Investigation
• Physical Exam 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be Citizen of the United States.
• Applicants shall be under 35 years of age, at the time of application and at such time as the final eligibility list is posted, unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioner’s Act.  Applicants, at such time as they file their application with this board, must be 21 years of age.  Proof of birth date will be required at time of application.
• Associate’s Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university with official transcript required prior to application deadline.  Evidence of such (transcript) must be uploaded to the Village of Schaumburg Application.  College credits are not accepted in lieu of this requirement.
• Valid driver's license.
• At the time of application must provide current certification that he or she has successfully passed the Candidate Physical Ability Test Plus (CPAT-Plus), as licensed and approved by the International Association of Firefighters and shall have a date not to exceed one year.
