Riverside Police Department seeks a part-time Community Service Officer (CSO) for non-criminal assignments.

Hours are 20-24 hours per week but can vary to all shifts.  Working holidays and weekends should be expected.

The CSO is a uniformed, unarmed position to assist with certain service calls and non-criminal assignments like:

• Completing reports
• Enforcing ordinances
• Directing traffic
• Issuing parking citations
• Foot patrol
• Crowd control at village events
• Code enforcement
• Helping with traffic and parking 

This position involves extensive standing, bending, and walking in all weather conditions.

Qualifications:

• No experience necessary.
• Interest in law enforcement or a criminal justice education is a plus.
• A high school diploma (or equivalent) and a good driving record are minimum requirements.

Good public communication skills are required with the ability to deal effectively with the public.

Selected candidates will undergo and successfully complete:

• Background check
• Post-offer drug screening
