Salary:

• • 2-3 years as a Police Officer will be hired at the Step 3 wage rate of current years M.A.P. Patrol Contract (2021) $71,456
  • 4-5 years as a Police Officer will be hired at the Step 5 wage rate of current years M.A.P. Patrol Contract (2021) $76,768
  • 6 or more years as a Police Officer will be hired at the Step 6 wage rate of current years M.A.P. Patrol Contract (2021) $79,570

Position Details

This full-time position is responsible for the protection of the life and property, prevention of crime, apprehension of criminals, and the enforcement of laws and ordinances. A significant portion of time involves public contact where discretion and tact is conscientiously exercised. Duties are performed in accordance with police procedures, practices, standards, general orders, and regulations.

Requirements:

• Employed by a municipal, county, or state Police Department in the State of Illinois as a Full-Time Police Officer for at least 2 years and currently certified by the Illinois Training and Standards Board.
• The following components at the discretion of the Board or Village:
• Application experience verification and background check
• Oral examination o Polygraph examination
• Psychological examination
• Medical examination
• Application of military preference points 

Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete field training and 18-month probation period.
