Salary:

• Starting: $64,780.82 annually

  Increases to:

  • $70,529.16 after a 15-month probationary period
  • $76,268.92 after 36 months
  • $78,647.40 after 36 months-assigned Police Officer
  • $81,292.65 at 5-9 years

  This position is covered under the City of Champaign Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Bargaining Unit labor agreement.

POLICE OFFICER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• $49 non-refundable application fee*
• U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States (must meet the Dept of Homeland Security Employment Eligibility requirements at time of hire)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 21 years of age by: August 31, 2021
• Valid Driver's License
• NOTE: Some felony convictions, misdemeanors or serious traffic offenses may also disqualify applicants from further consideration if there is a substantial relationship between the criminal history and the position of Probationary Police Officer
• Completion and submission of online application and all required documents by 4:00 p.m. CST by application deadline
