Position Details
The Community Service Officer performs a variety of police support activities including:
Animal control
Village vehicle code enforcement
motorist assistance
traffic direction
Facilitating communication with the court system
The CSO also assists sworn department members in the prisoner booking and release process.
The position requires an average of up to 28 hours per week.
The requirements for this position include:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferably experience in Law Enforcement or working with animals.
English/Spanish fluency is strongly preferred, but not required.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to receive, handle, and complete submissions of records and reports with honesty and confidentiality.
Candidate must also have outstanding interpersonal skills that demonstrate personal integrity and respect.
The successful candidate must pass an extensive background check.
Must also obtain a Law Enforcement Agency Data System Operator Certification within one year from hire date.
