Position Details

The City of Villa Grove is accepting applications for the full-time position of Police Officer and School Resource Officer.

School Resource Officer applicants must be a certified police officer with at least three years of law enforcement experience. 

The City of Villa Grove is seeking qualified candidates to serve in a police department that is focused on service, integrity, and leadership and has the strong support of the community and City Council. The city of Villa Grove is located in east central Illinois and the Police Department is staffed with six full-time officers and one part-time officer who are committed to providing professional police services to all.

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States (must meet I-9 requirements)
• Valid Driver's License
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 21 years of age by the date of hire
• No felony convictions. Note: Some convictions for misdemeanors or serious traffic offences may also disqualify applicants from further consideration.
• Medical physical examinations and criminal background check will be required.
