Certified Full-Time Lateral Police Officer

To be considered for a Lateral Hire, an applicant must:

• Have fulfilled the requirements of the Illinois Police Training Act
• Have been employed as a full-time Police Officer for at least two (2) years in another law enforcement agency and still be certified
• Be a citizen of the United States
• Be able to speak and read the English language
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Be of good moral character
• Be able to perform all the duties and tasks assigned to a Worth Police Officer

Applicants must successfully pass an oral interview, and a background investigation.

Applicants must also meet the criteria established by Illinois State Statutes and the Worth Police and Fire Commissioners.

After a conditional offer, but prior to actual employment, a candidate must pass a medical exam, all in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
