TITLE:

Youth Counselor/Detention Worker

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Supervisors

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Supervising at risk youth held in Detention for the safety and security of both the youth and community. The workweek is based on a calendar week, starting on Sunday and ending on Saturday. The Kane County Juvenile Justice Center is a 24-7 facility. Shifts include working days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree

GENERAL EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to the minimum qualifications, the successful applicant will have demonstrated ability in following skills:

• Oral Communication Skills
• Problem Analysis
• Planning/Organizing
• Decisiveness
• Oral Fact Finding
• Bilingual, English/Spanish Language Skills Preferred
