Hours: 19 hours per week (Part Time position)
This is a part-time, 19 hours/week, civilian position that is responsible for background investigation and verification of information provided by employment applicants (such as City of Elmhurst police officer, firefighter, cashier, etc), business license applicants, and applicants for any other licenses requiring a background investigation pursuant to Elmhurst Municipal Ordinance prior to issuance.
This role also compiles and types thoroughly written reports including investigator supplemental reports, personnel background investigations, licensing background investigations, taped statements, and other related miscellaneous reports and correspondence.
Other responsibilities include maintaining a working knowledge of various computer programs and on-line computer services utilized by the division and when needed assisting with criminal investigations in a support role.
This position reports to the Detective Commander, Investigations Division, Elmhurst Police Department.
