Position Details

The City of Edwardsville is creating a hiring list for Lateral Police Officer candidates.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Currently serving as a Police Officer.
• An Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice or a Bachelor's Degree in any field.
• Completed a minimum standard basic Law Enforcement Training Course.
• Must be 21 Years of Age
• Valid Driver's License 

Job Summary:

• Responsible for the protection of life and property
• Performs law enforcement and crime prevention work
• Community education (DARE)
• Controls traffic flow and enforces state and local traffic regulations
• Performs investigative work
• Participates in and provides support and assistance to special crime prevention and enforcement programs
• Performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of the department 

Residency:

Following their appointments, new Police Officers are required to relocate to Madison County within (18) Months of completion of the probationary period.
