Position Details

The Glen Ellyn Board of Fire and Police Commissioners have authorized a test for lateral police officers.

The Glen Ellyn Police Department is a modern department that employs men and women who are dedicated to providing professional law enforcement services to the community. Employees in both civilian and sworn positions are required to maintain the highest standards of integrity and character. The Department prides itself in partnering with the community to provide comprehensive police services.

Minimum Requirements:

• $35.00 non-refundable application fee
• United States Citizen
• Valid Driver's License
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment
• Must be certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) and, at the time of application, actively employed as a full-time sworn law enforcement officer, for a minimum of 24 months, of a regular police department in any municipal, county, university, or State law enforcement agency.
• Submit all documentation required to continue in the application process.
