Police Officer Examination

City of Blue Island

The Civil Service Commission for the City of Blue Island, Illinois will conduct an examination for the purpose of providing an eligibility list of persons qualified to be appointed to the position of Police Officer.

Qualifications:

Applicants must:

• Be a citizen of the United States
• Meet all eligibility requirements as provided in the Illinois Compiled Statutes and the Rules and Regulations of the Blue Island Civil Service Commission
• Have attained their 21st birthday but not attained their 35th birthday by the date of the appointment unless otherwise, as provided in Section 10-1-7 of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ICLS 5/10-1-7).
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• Possess a valid P.O.W.E.R. card issued no more than twelve (12) months prior to July 13, 2019, from a duly licensed training academy.

• Copy of Certificate of Completion of Minimum Standards Basic Law Enforcement Training (if applicable)

• SEALED original official college transcripts (if applicable)
