  Entry Level Starting Salary: $74,188

  Lateral Starting Salary: Up to $87,026 (based upon qualifications, may begin at Step 3 in the Salary Schedule)

The Village of Lincolnshire is accepting applications for both Lateral Police Officers and Entry-Level Police Officers.

Applicant requirements: 

• U.S. citizenship
• All candidates requiring police academy training must be fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment
• Must embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles
• No misdemeanor or felony convictions
• At the time of employment, applicant must be legally eligible to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Illinois
• Minimum of 21 years of age at time of application; be UNDER 35 years of age at the time of application and at such time as the initial eligibility list is posted, unless otherwise exempt by Statute
• No residency requirement
• All employees are expected to present a professional appearance and must be of good moral character

Candidate Process:

• Orientation and interview process:
• As police officer openings occur, selected candidates will be contacted for a first interview date.
• Virtual option available for distanced applicants.
• Background investigation:
• Applicants will undergo an extensive background investigation to include a polygraph examination. Conditional job offers are dependent on successful completion of both psychological and medical testing.
• Police academy:
• The police department has two spots reserved for each 2022 Basic Law Enforcement session at the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center.
