Position Details

The position of Evidence Custodian/Evidence Technician is a civilian position within the Police Department involving the receipt, recording, security and disposition of all recovered evidence, property and contraband coming into the custody of the Police Department, as well as the processing of crime scenes.

Additionally, the person in this position will, at times, be required to perform basic community service officer (CSO)-type duties such as running errands, traffic direction/road closure and assisting at special events.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be high school graduate or equivalent.
• Candidates must be 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Have a minimum of 5 years in law enforcement experience with a concentration in the field of Evidence Room operations and Evidence Collection.
