  • CERTIFIED OFFICERS with prior police experience may be started at up to Step 3 ($88,478), in which case the OFFICER will advance to the next Step on their next anniversary date.
  • ENTRY LEVEL starting Pay Annual Rate: $72,757 based on a 40-hour work week.

Position Details

The Village of Schaumburg is accepting applications for Certified Police Officers and Entry Level candidates.

In accordance with Illinois State Statute, the BFPC has historically hired certified candidates ahead of non-certified candidates.

The Board of Fire and Police Commission will accept applications and test results until they determine an adequate number of applications have been received.

Applicants must complete the following before moving forward in the application process:

• Complete the application with National Testing Network as well as  the Frontline National Exam at https://www.nationaltestingnetwork.com/publicsafetyjobs/.
• Submit application online with the Village of Schaumburg at https://career4.successfactors.com/sfcareer/jobreqcareer?jobId=12448&company=Schaumburg along with required documents (see document checklist below).

Document Checklist:

• Copy of college transcripts from an accredited college/university
• Copy of a Valid driver’s license
• Copy of a Valid Police Officer Physical Ability Test Certification/POWER card (entry level candidates only) issued after October 31, 2020. The BFPC, at its discretion, may accept cards issued prior to that date.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
• Successful completion of police examination and physical requirements.
• Applicants, at such time as they file their application with this board, must be at least 21 years of age. 
• Applicants shall be under 35 years of age, at the time of application and at such time as the final eligibility list is posted, unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioner’s Act.
• Must be a United States Citizen.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
