$21.32 – $30.45/hour with starting pay commensurate with experience
This part-time position is pension qualified with the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) and eligible for the 457 deferred compensation plan and paid holidays.
Part-time employees are not eligible for health insurance.
The hours for this part-time position will be weekends and various weekday evenings on a rotating schedule. Applicants will work alone in the office and should have the flexibility to cover other shifts when necessary to provide office coverage.
This position is responsible for the handling of phone calls and visitors, and receipt of utility payments at the Police Records front desk. Welcomes citizens and visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries appropriately. Will receive citizen complaints and take appropriate action to initiate an efficient response. This will include handling after-hours non-911 emergency call-outs to City services staff to respond to a variety of situations. Utilize Police Records written procedures and department computer systems to make inquiries, perform miscellaneous clerical functions, and assist the public, officers, and other law enforcement agencies. Will accept various cash payments and issue receipts. Monitors department surveillance, intercom, and security system. Assists with Police Records inquiries, projects and tasks as requested or assigned.
