  • Probationary police officer effective January 1, 2022 is $38,688.00 the first year of service.
  • Upon successful completion of probation salary increases to $47,548.80.
  • Lateral appointments ranges from $46,176.00 to $49,816.80 depending on qualifications and experience.

Position Details

THE MT. ZION POLICE DEPARTMENT IS HIRING!

The Mt. Zion Board of Police Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants to fill vacancies and establish a new eligibility list for the position of Mt. Zion Police Officer.

All candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Be a citizen of the United States
• Be at least 21 but less than 35 years of age at the time of appointment unless exempt by Section 5/10-2.1 of the Fire and Police Commissioners Act
• Have no felony convictions
• Be a high school graduate or equivalent
• Have at least 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university, - Or 2 years active services in the U.S. Armed Forces - Or proof of 2 years of Law Enforcement experience (police officer, corrections officer, auxiliary officer)

LATERAL APPLICANTS:

The Mt. Zion Police Department encourages those who qualify as lateral applicants to apply.

Lateral applicants must be certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and have no less than 2 years experience as a full time sworn police officer with their respective agency.
