Minimum Requirements:

• $35.00 non-refundable application fee.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License at the time of application with the ability to obtain an Illinois Driver’s License upon time of hire.
• Must be at least 21 years at the time of application. Must be under 35 years old at the time of
• application, unless they have been certified as a full-time police officer in the United States, or are otherwise exempt by State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6
• Must have proof of High School Diploma, GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement.
• Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character as described in State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6.
• Must possess a valid POWER card issued from a licensed agency within one year of the written exam (valid if issued between 2/13/2021 – 2/13/2022)
• Must be able to successfully complete all phases of testing.

Please arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. with a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, military ID) to signin.

The current gathering and mask mandates will be followed at the time of testing. Additional details and guidelines will be provided approximately one week before the exam.

The Initial Eligibility Register is subject to change with the addition of the Veterans, Educational or Law Enforcement Certification Preference Points as prescribed in 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-8 and 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-9. Preference points will be as stated and not cumulative.
