Alarm Monitoring Specialist

The Alarm Monitoring Specialist is responsible for monitoring and processing incoming fire alarms, handling phone calls from subscribers and the public and completing clerical work related to the alarm system.

Location:

Northbrook, IL

Hours:

Full-time, Monday - Friday

12:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Job Description/Requirements:

• The Alarm Monitoring Specialist monitors and processes incoming alarms with accuracy and in accordance with established written directives and practices

• Promptly and courteously communicates with subscribers, business owners, alarm vendors and member agency personnel while assisting them on the phone or in person

• Accurately performs data entry when entering alarms into the CAD system for dispatch, taking alarms in and out of service, or completing clerical work

• Efficiently operates a variety of equipment and software

• Successfully completes training program for the position

• Performs routine notifications to outside agencies, including but not limited to, nonmember agencies, businesses and the public

• Complies with the orders, policies, procedures, rules and regulations of RED Center

• Follows written and verbal instructions

• Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age with High School Diploma or equivalent

• Possess strong analytical and logical problem solving skills

• Must be of good moral character

• Proficient in the English language including the proper usage, spelling, punctuation & grammar

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instruction

• Must submit to the all testing and successfully pass a thorough background investigation, psychological exam, medical exam and drug screening
