Position Details

The Village of Dwight is accepting applications for the position of entry level police officers and lateral transfers.

We anticipate the need to hire up to three officers in the next several months.

We are creating a hiring list with preference to Police Training Certified applicants, but not necessarily required.

We are seeking qualified individuals pursuing a rewarding career in law enforcement who want to work in a caring community who supports them.

Entry Level Police Officer Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• U.S. Citizen
• Minimum 21 years old
• Valid driver's license
• No felony convictions
• Pass physical agility (POWER Test)
• Pass Written Exam (National Police Officer Selection Test) 

Lateral Transfer Requirements:

• Same as above, except no physical agility or written exam
• In depth background check and medical exam
• Two years experience preferred
• Submission of previous employers' performance evaluation (if completed)
