Position Details

The Village of Kenilworth is recruiting highly qualified, mature-minded individuals to complement our police department.

The Kenilworth Police Department is a police organization which is committed to the safety and protection of its community.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Be of good moral character, of sound health, physically and mentally able to perform assigned duties.
• Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Possess a valid State of Illinois driver's license.
• No prior felony convictions.
• Must have experience as a full-time Police Officer.
• Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a medical examination, background investigation and other required pre-employment testing.
• Applicants MUST possess the Illinois Basic or STTAR/PEP Course prescribed by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board or successful completion of a basic training program of similar content and number of hours, found acceptable by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board for waiver of minimum training standards (50 ILCS 705).
• Must be able to successfully perform all the duties and tasks assigned to a Kenilworth Police Officer. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Shift assignments vary, but may include 4 through 12-hour blocks of time. Shifts are primarily overnight and weekends. There is availability for some dayshift and weekdays.
