Position Details

The Village of Northbrook, Illinois (population 35,222), is a thriving, progressive community strategically located 25 miles north of Chicago. The Northbrook Police Department is seeking a candidate for the position of part-time Community Service Officer.

Reporting to the Community Relations Supervisor, the position’s duties include:

• Assisting with traffic control
• Parking enforcement
• Preparing and presenting crime prevention and community outreach programs for various age groups
• Infant car seat installations/training
• Animal control calls when animal control officer not on duty
• Private property crash reports
• Other duties as assigned 

Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable of police operations and crime prevention.

Minimum requirements include:

• High School diploma or GED
• Successful candidates should possess a minimum of three years of related experience
