The City of DeKalb is seeking two administrative support professionals to join our team and help support our Fire Department!
These roles will require the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain a high level of discretion, and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
The Administrative Assistant provides a variety of professional and administrative support to the Fire Chief and departmental personnel. The role assists with overall departmental workflow including handling of confidential materials, data compilation, generation of reports, budgetary assistance, composing of correspondence and maintaining positive public relations with the public.
We require a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of five years of administrative/secretarial experience. An associate degree in office management, business, or related field is preferred. Previous experience working in a public safety environment is strongly desired.
The Office Associate is a part-time position working 15 to 20 hours per week. Provides a variety of clerical, data entry, and administrative support to the Fire Chief and department personnel.
We require a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of prior administrative/clerical experience. Supplemental coursework or training in office management a plus!
