Position Details

We have immediate openings available!

Full-Time officers work 12-hour shifts

Part-Time officers have option of 12 or 6-hour shifts

Must work minimum of 40-hours per calendar month

Requirements:

• Certified to at least Part-Time status by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board or be certified by another state in which training and experience would qualify you to become certified in Illinois. (Check reciprocity process on ILETSB website under training tab)
• Be at least 23 years old by the time of appointment
• Be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Ability to work some holidays, nights and weekends on occasion.
• Must have good communication skills
• Must possess a valid F.O.I.D card
• Must comply and successfully complete:
• Pre-employment screenings including a basic physical, in-depth background check and interview 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Patrols assigned zones
• Enforces local and state laws
• Enforces IVC
• Make required arrests
• Must attend court at least 1x per month
• Answer calls for service
• Operate a police vehicle safely 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk, stand, bend, crouch, stoop, or sit for varying periods of time
• Ability to hear and see in the normal range, with or without correction
• Occasionally work in situations that may pose a physical danger
• Ability to hear communications via radio and respond
• May be exposed to extreme weather, low quality air and dangerous situations when performing traffic duties
• Occasionally lift and carry 10 – 50lbs
• Ability to re-interpret and write complex reports 

Part-Time officers are currently working with a CBA through April 30, 2024.
